
Dr. Melissa Gutierrez is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist, fellowship-trained in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS), and a certified menopause specialist (MSCP). With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Gutierrez is dedicated to supporting women through all stages of life, from reproductive health to menopause, with a focus on personalized care and cutting-edge treatments.
Specializing in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, she treats a variety of gynecologic conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and abnormal bleeding. By offering minimally invasive options, she helps reduce recovery time and improve surgical outcomes. Dr. Gutierrez also focuses on fertility-preserving treatments and works closely with patients to manage gynecologic issues that impact reproductive health.
Dr. Gutierrez earned her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, completed her OBGYN residency in Phoenix (now Creighton University), and pursued advanced fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery in Las Vegas. She is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Hospital and La Peer Surgery Center, and operates a private practice in Beverly Hills.
A passionate advocate for advancing women’s health, Dr. Gutierrez is also dedicated to education and research. Fluent in English and proficient in Spanish, she ensures that her patients receive compassionate, culturally sensitive care.
Before relocating to California, Dr. Gutierrez spent over six years in practice in Las Vegas, where she served on several advisory committees and held leadership positions, including Director of Robotics at Las Vegas Minimally Invasive Surgery, Assistant Medical Director of the Las Vegas Pelvic Health Center, and Assistant Fellowship Director of Las Vegas Minimally Invasive Surgery. In 2014, she was honored with the Top OB/GYN Las Vegas Award by the International Association of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.
As an educator, Dr. Gutierrez has trained the next generation of medical professionals through surgical workshops and proctoring at prestigious institutions such as the University of Nevada School of Medicine and the University of California, Los Angeles. An internationally recognized lecturer, she has presented annually at the Global Congress of Minimally Invasive Gynecology since 2010 and at events including the Clark County Medical Society Robotics Symposium, the American College of Surgeons Chile Chapter, and the International Urogynecological Association Annual Meeting.
Dr. Gutierrez has published research in leading medical journals like Surgical Technology International, contributed to scientific videos, written articles, and participated in media interviews on gynecologic health and robotic surgery for platforms such as Las Vegas Women’s Magazine and Morning Blend Las Vegas.
As an expert panelist for WisePause Wellness, Dr. Gutierrez contributes to helping women navigate menopause and perimenopause, and she was a guest speaker at the LA Premier Screening of the documentary The M-Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause.
